29-30 April 2014 at the Ternopil National Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Hnatiuk held a conference "Childhood without Violence: society, school and family to protect the rights of children".

The conference brought together scientists, psychologists, workers of educational system and graduate students. The initiative "Family friendly university" was represented by Elena Kupenko and Alina Goncharova. 

Conference organizers aimed to make the analysis of state protection system and the prevention of violence against children in Ukraine; consideration of the legal, social and psychological aspects of violence and child abuse; dissemination of knowledge to create a safe family and educational environment for the psychological welfare of the child, protection of rights and freedoms.
