October 7 in Sumy State University held meeting a "round table" with participants of the project "Active Citizens" of British Council in Ukraine. The topic of discussion was the role of universities in regional development: best practices of social initiatives of Sumy State University".

During the meeting manager of the project "Equal opportunities in getting profession for young mother-students in higher educational establishments" Nina Svitaylo shared the experience of the initiative "Family friendly university" and the rector of the Sumy State University Anatoly Vasilyev stated: "The social component - one of the most important in the philosophy and strategy of our university.

We are an open university - ready to work with civic organizations, businesses, research and educational institutions . Our activities are focused not only on social security for students, faculty and staff. We fulfill the social mission for the development of the region and the country as a whole".
